Warwan Valley Trek

The Warwan Valley Trek is a high-altitude trans-Himalayan trek that traverses from Zanskar into the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir. This trek gives you a unique experience, unlike any other trek in India and many would not have done any other trek like this trek before. Warwan Valley Trek gives you the experience of pure natural serenity and depth of extreme wilderness. 
 
Irrespective of how many times you may have visited Kashmir before or may have gone on any other trekking trip in Kashmir, trekking through the Warwan Valley will be unique for anyone. This valley is no less than a paradise located in the  Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir. Even many Kashmiris may have not even seen it to date as this valley was discovered in 2015. 
 
The most notable is the crossover trail into the Warwan Valley, which begins in the trans-Himalayan settings and passes through colorful mountains and barren terrain. During this trekking tour, one will find a variety of flowers, vast meadows, and glaciers on the trail. One starts from a barren area in the beginning, but gradually the greenery starts encircling you from all sides as one descends down in the Warwan valley of KIshtwar region. 
 
One will need time to get used to breathtaking and shocking landscapes and as one move towards the pass, one gets to experience the greatest adventure of Kashmir in this journey. The climb up the stretch to the pass is challenging, however, the overall trek is of moderate grade. One must prepare for the trek as then one can enjoy this exciting journey a lot. The daily hike is about 12 to 16 km during the Warwan Valley Trek in the Kishtwar district. It is very important for one to be fit for this trekking journey. 
 

Warwan Valley Trek Difficulty Level

The difficulty level of the Warwan Valley Trek is moderate to difficult, as you have to hike about 10 to 16 kilometers per day. If a beginner trekker does this trek without preparation, then it becomes difficult and not advisable. 
 

Best Time to Visit Warwan Valley Trek

The best time to go on the Warwan Valley Trek is from July to September. During these months the weather is clear. This trek cannot be done in winter, and it becomes very difficult due to harsh conditions. Hence one should plan this trekking trip only in the month from July to September. 
 

How To Reach Panikhar in Kargil Valley & Warwan Valley

To access Zanskar or the Warwan Valley, Srinagar is the nearest pickup/drop point. The trek starts from Panikhar and finishes in the Warwan valley, the nearest accessible gateway is the Srinagar airport. 
 
By Air - The nearest airport to visit Panikhar & Warwan Valley is the Srinagar airport, which is connected to many major cities in India. One can also fly into Leh airport also to reach Panikhar if desired. There are regular flights from Bangalore, Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu, Mumbai, and Kolkata.
 
By Train - The nearest railway station is Jammu Tawi Railway Station. After coming to Jammu Tawi, you can take a local cab or bus to Srinagar.
 
By Road - You must first come to Srinagar to reach Warwan Valley by road. After this, you will have to come by bus from Srinagar to Sonmarg. Sonmarg is 79 km from Srinagar. You will not face any problem in coming to Srinagar, as Srinagar is well connected to Chandigarh, Jammu, and Delhi bus stand.

village and a panoramic view of the lofty mountains.

Distance: 14 km
Duration: 5-6 hours
After a delicious breakfast in the morning, get ready to go on a trekking trip. Our trekking journey starts from the Ugra river Panikar Nala. Overnight stay at Denora.

On this day, we trek towards Sukhnai Valley from Hampet. On this day we get to
see beautiful views of Amarnath Yatra and the route leading to it. After traveling for about 7 to 8 hours you reach Sukhnai village, where you get to see vast grasslands.

Overnight stay at Sukhnai.

Duration:8-9 hour drive.

Buffer Day: A day has to be kept as a buffer day in case the weather is rough.

What documents should I carry along with me for traveling to Warwan Valley?
Yes, you must keep some important documents with you during your visit to Warwan Valley. Because without these documents you will not be allowed for the trekking journey. You should carry the original copy of a government identification card with you. For this, you can keep an Aadhar card or passport. The investigation is done by the Forest Department. Apart from this, you also need to have a medical certificate.

Can beginners do this trek?
The Warwan Valley Trek is a moderate to difficult level trek, which is very difficult for beginner trekkers. Here the terrain is constantly changing, where you will encounter debris, glaciers, narrow paths, crossing rivers, etc. Every day you have to travel around 10 to 16 km. You may get tired with a backpack and some accessories. This trek demands high physical fitness, if your physical fitness is high, then you can go for this trek.

I am over 50 years old, can I do this trek?
If you are above 50 years of age or are a senior citizen, it is important to understand the challenges faced by this trek before you book the Warwan Valley Trek. You will travel 12 to 16 km daily on this trek, where you will also face extremely steep climbs. You may also read the help of technical staff at times during the trekking trip. This trek is of difficulty level, which is only for experienced trekkers. 

Is Warwan Valley Trekking Right for Women?
Yes, women can also travel for Warwan Valley trekking. As already told to you, you should prepare for your physical fitness a few days before the trekking. Only then can you be ready for your trekking journey.

The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of receipt of the letter. 

Notice less than 60-46 days:  25% cost will be deducted
Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

Note: No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trip or abandon it due to any reasons.

  • The digital copy of the Indemnity form duly filled, signed and emailed to the company along with the booking amount. 
  • It will be deemed that the booking & payment policy is accepted by the clients while making bookings with the first deposit amount. 
  • If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  • In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option is chosen on per day basis.
  • Please note and be well informed that there will be no refund of money after the package commences and if one cannot complete the activity or gets sick enroute. 
  • The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed.

We shall not be responsible for the delays or alterations in the program or expenses incurred due to conflict, international or internal flight delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, weather, war, vehicle problems, political closures, and disputes.
  2. The booking is accepted on the understanding that you realize the potential risks and hazards that can be involved in the holidays of this kind. The organizer along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday.

Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue. It is recommended that travel insurance should cover adventure activities undertaken. We can help you in case required
