Overview

Luxury Hiking in Shimla

Holiday Moods Adventures has introduced and pioneered the concept of Luxury Hiking in Shimla. Our Walking Journeys are grounding, immersive, experiential and soul searching. Come enjoy the crisps and fresh Himalayan air on a journey that takes you to visit monasteries, places and trails less frequented that are off the grid of regular tourist maps along with the ones popular and most visited.  Whilst, we will include as many walking journeys in your trip, we will still be needing to use cars to reach far corners and remote locations to be able to take you on walking journeys that could be adventurous, experiential and immersive with beautiful landscapes.

Overview & History

In 1864, Shimla was declared as the summer capital of British India when the British discovered it in 1819. In 1903 a rail line was constructed between Kalka and Shimla built by the British, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Attractions include the Viceroy Lodge, the Christ Church, the Jakhoo Temple, the Mall Road, and the Ridge, which together form the city center. Himachal is very popular for trekking, hiking and many adventure activities. Shimla perfectly combines with the natural mountain beauty and awe-inspiring beauty of Neo-Gothic architecture, plus it reflects the British influence with its style.

Hiking in Shimla is the ideal option if you are looking for a hike that allows you to experience the many attractions and activities with all the luxury services while keeping you in touch with nature. Highlights of the Walk: The most imposing and attractive structures which include castles, temples, heritage hotels, banks and government offices are the highlights of this walk. They are some of the best examples of British Architecture of the era and reveal history and various interesting stories of the glorious past. They will compel you to glance at them from every angle. A brief description of some of them is given here. In general: we assemble at the Christ Church at the Ridge at 10 a.m. and begin our walking tour.
The best way to explore this lovely hill town is on foot. Walk through the Lanes & Trails of this British Himalayan Town and know about the stories of the bygone era.
