You may be a beginner and we will be very happy to conduct ski classes for you. Ski Classes can be conducted from beginner to advanced levels. People who already have experience of skiing can spend more time. Apart from this, you will be taken to sightseeing and shopping in Srinagar. A visit to Gulmarg is not complete if you have experienced the Gondola which covers and showcases the entire landscape of Gulmarg.

Gulmarg known as the meadow of flowers is located some 51 km away from Srinagar in the Pir Panjal mountain range. It is a valley with virgin peaks, dry powder snow in winter, and lovely meadows in the summers.
How to reach Gulmarg? To go to Gulmarg, you have all the options available, you can choose the air travel, rail route, and by road, which is given detailed information about you.
By Road - Direct buses are available from Delhi to Gulmarg via road. Gulmarg is well connected to all major cities of Himachal, Jammu, and Kashmir. Government and private, deluxe, and luxury buses are always available here.
By Train - The nearest railway station to Gulmarg is Jammu, about 300 km from Gulmarg. To reach Gulmarg from the railway station, you can catch a local bus, otherwise, you can book a cab to Gulmarg directly on hire.
By Air - The nearest airport to Gulmarg is Srinagar, it is connected to all major cities of India. From the airport to Gulmarg you can take a local taxi. The airport is about 55 kilometers from Gulmarg. To fly to Gulmarg, find a flight from your major city to Srinagar.
Alpine Skiing
Downhill skiing is usually referred to as Alpine skiing. It takes place on a snow piste at a ski location. Ski lifts or chairlifts help skiers up the slope. Alpine skiing started way back Nordic type of skiing in the 1920s. Specialized alpine equipment is easily available with the help of lifts.
Best Time
(Season) to Visit Gulmarg for Skiing, Snowfall
Snowfall is seen in Kashmir from December till March. If you are just coming to enjoy the snow, then the winter season is the best to come to Gulmarg. Gulmarg is a quaint city in the lap of Kashmir. The best season to come to Gulmarg for snowfall is December, January, February, and March.
If you want to come to Gulmarg for skiing, then the weather is right after Christmas. The best season is from Mid January to Mid March for skiing in Gulmarg. The snowfall in Gulmarg lasts from late December to late March. Gulmarg is a perfect place for beginners to learn skiing and snowboarding. Most people come for a weekend trip to Gulmarg and participate in snow sports.
Gulmarg Gondola
The Gondola in Gulmarg is one of Asia highest cable cars set in the ski resort of Gulmarg, J&K surrounded by lovely deep pine forests and the great Himalayan peaks of the Pir Panjal range. The gondola is one of the most sought-after attractions even for the leisure traveler taking one over dense pine-covered forests deep in the stunning Himalaya.
The gondola lift is made in two-stages and it ferries over 600 people per hour. The highest point is the Kongdoori Mountain (3747M) near Apharwat Peak (4,200 M). The ropeway has been set up by the famous French firm Poma. The first stage transfers one from the Gulmarg starting at 2,600 M to the Kongdoori Station. The second stage takes travelers/skiers to a height of 3,747 m on Kongdoori Mountain. The Gondola has 36 cabins and 18 towers.

Timings, Duration & Prices
The gondola timings are from 10 am to 5 pm (though completely dependent upon the weather). A gondola cabin carries six people at one time. The price for one person for the first stage till Kongdoori Station is Rs 700 Indian Rupees and Rs 900 Indian Rupees for the second stage to Kongdoori Mountain. One can also use the chair cars for the second phase charged @ Rs 300/- INR per person. To reach the first stage It takes 9 minutes or so and the second stage is reached in around 12 minutes.
The Gulmarg Gondola is open 7 days a week 12 months a year. The Indo-PakLine of Control is visible from the top point of the mountain. The length of the gondola ride is about 5 kilometers long.
