Sikkim is a state in the northeast of India, close to the Siliguri Corridor of India near Bangladesh. Sikkim is the second smallest less populated region in India. It is a part of the eastern Himalayas and is notable for its biodiversity. 

Jeep safari in Sikkim is the best way to explore and see its natural beauty, which is the perfect option to discover mysterious waterfalls, beautiful lakes, Great Himalayan peaks, and abundant varieties of wildflowers. Travel to Gurudongmar Lake is the prized experience and enjoy a thrill-filled journey driving through the snow-covered peaks and mountains from the north of Gangtok towards Lachen, which is a small town located in North Sikkim at an altitude of 3048 meters. 

It is another ideal place for jeep safaris, making its way through the green slopes and hills of Yumthang Valley at an elevation of 3,500 meters above sea level. There are Enchei Math, Taktsang Monastery, Tashiding Monastery, and many more which are situated on the top of a hill amidst nature. The wildlife sanctuary in North Sikkim is rich in many species, surrounded by the Chud-Sagochen and Chomzomi Tso mountains. The best time to visit north Sikkim is from March to June and October to December. 


Best Time (Season) to Visit Sikkim Tourism

Summer season (March - June)
The minimum temperature in this season is 5? C and the maximum temperature is up to 25 ? C, which makes the weather fragrant and moist. Here one can see the serenity of the colorful Buddhist monasteries like flora and wildlife. This season is the best time for all those who want to spend a few days amidst the tranquility of nature or to indulge in trekking.

Autumn Season (September - October)
This season has a minimum temperature of 5 ? C and a maximum of 20? C. Unlike other cities in India, North Sikkim experiences distinct autumn. This season is neither too hot nor too cold, in this season you can enjoy the outskirts of Sikkim and the beautiful views of nature, the high lakes and magnificent waterfalls here look even more enchanting. Autumn is the best time to visit Sikkim.

Winter Season (November - February)
In this season the minimum temperature here is 0 ? C and the maximum temperature is up to 10? C. The winter season brings an unusual stretch in this region. The white snow-capped mountains and frozen lakes offer very enchanting and fascinating views. During this season you will also see various festivals like Cherry Tea Festival, Maniram Bhanjyang Tourism Festival, and Lal Panda Winter Festival.


How to Reach Sikkim by Air, Train, and Road

By Airplane: Pakyong Airport is the nearest airport in Sikkim, about 31 km from Gangtok. It is a greenfield airport spread over 201 acres. Apart from this, the second nearest airport of Gangtok is Bagdogra, which is about 126 km away from Gangtok. This airport has daily flights from many cities of India and neighboring cities like Bhutan. Taxis are easily available from Gangtok Airport to Gangtok, A helicopter service is also available between Bagdogra and Gangtok, which takes a 35-minute route. A perfect option for visiting Sikkim.

By Train: The nearest railway station of Gangtok is at Siliguri which is about 146 km from Gangtok, besides the second railway station is at New Jalpaiguri which is 187 km away from Gangtok. There are several trains connecting them to Kolkata, Guwahati, Mumbai, and Delhi. There are daily trains from Guwahati to Siliguri, some trains that run from Kolkata to New Jalpaiguri. You can easily take a taxi to  Gangtok from New Jalpaiguri Railway stations

By Road: Easily accessible by bus in Sikkim, you can take transport to Sikkim from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Guwahati, any state of India. Many tourists travel by train in New Jalpaiguri to reach Gangtok to take advantage of the altitude. Roadways from Bagdogra, New Jalpaiguri, and Siliguri all meet Sevoke Road, and the National Highway leads to NH10. Private taxis to Gangtok are easily available from New Jalpaiguri Junction railway station and Bagdogra Airport

1

Bagdogra Airport ? Gangtok (130 kms in 4 hrs)
Gangtok

Meeting & Greeting on arrival at Bagdogra Airport & transfer to Gangtok (5,480 ft.), Capital of Sikkim. On arrival check in to hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

2

Excursion to Changu Lake & Baba Mandir
Gangtok

After breakfast start for an excursion to Changu Lake (12,312 ft.) & Baba Mandir (13,200 ft.) which is 55 kms from Gangtok city each way (Starts 7:30 AM ? 3:30 PM). Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Optional tour to Nathula Pass (Alt 14000Ft.) on China Border can also be arranged (Except Mon, Tue) for Indian Nationals only at an additional cost & documents required 7 days prior to departure for Nathula pass. Please note Nathula Pass permits are issued on the day of travel only as per availability and once the permit is issued the amount will be non refundable.

Gangtok ? Lachen (125 kms / 6 hrs)
Lachen

After breakfast pick up from hotel & transfer to Lachen (9,285 ft.). En route visit Singhik, Seven Sister Water Falls, Chungthang Confluence and reach Lachen by evening. Dinner & Overnight stay at Lachen.

Lachen - Chopta Valley ? Gurudongmar Lake ? Lachung
Lachung

Early Morning drive to Chopta Valley (13,225 ft.) & Gurudongmar Lake (17,175 ft.). Back to hotel and after lunch transfer to Lachung (8,175 ft). Reach Lachung by evening. Dinner & Overnight stay at Lachung.

Lachung ? Yumthang Valley Excursion
Lachung

After breakfast drive to Yumthang Valley Known as Valley of Flowers (11,910 ft.). On the way back, visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to resort. Overnight stay at Lachung. Optional Yumesamdong Valley or Zero Point (Alt 15700 ft.) for Indian tourists only at an additional cost.

Lachung - Gangtok (125 kms / 5 hrs)
Gangtok

After breakfast departure for Gangtok, en-route witness the wonderful Bheema & Twin waterfalls. On arrival at Gangtok, check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.

Gangtok ? Bagdogra Airport (28 Kms/1 hrs)
Gangtok

After breakfast check out from hotel and transfer to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. Tour ends.

The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of receipt of the letter. 

  • Notice less than 60-46 days:  25% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

Note: No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trip or abandon it due to any reasons.

  • Please  note  and  be  well  informed  that  there  will  be  no  refund  of  money  after the package commences and if one cannot complete activity or gets sick enroute. 
  • The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed

  1. It is in the nature of a holiday of this kind to be flexible. The day-to-day agenda and ultimate goal of the tour is taken as an aim and not as a contractual obligation. We shall not be responsible for the delays or alterations in the program or expenses incurred due to conflict, international or internal flight delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, weather, war, vehicle problems, political closures and disputes.
  2. The  booking  is  accepted  on  the  understanding  that  you  realize  the  potential  risks  and hazards that can be involved in holidays of this kind. The organisor along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday. 
  3. Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue. It is recommended that the travel insurance should cover adventure activities undertaken. We can help you incase required
  4. The Company would not be liable to pay any kind of compensation arising because of any mishap, sickness, accident etc.
