The Rashtrapati Niwas, also known as Viceregal Lodge, is located on the Observatory Hills of Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India. It was formerly the residence of the British Viceroy of India. The Ridge, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, India The Ridge road is a large open space, located in the center of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. The Ridge is the hub of all cultural activities of Shimla. It is situated along the Mall Road, which is the famous shopping center of Shimla. Most major places of Shimla like Snowdon, Mall, Jakhoo hill, etc. are connected through the Ridge. It runs east to west alongside the Mall Road, and joins it at the Scandal Point on the west side. On the east side, The Ridge road leads to Lakkar Bazaar, a wooden crafts market. It's the major landmark and the most easily recognized face of the hill station. When winter sets in and when the country had its first major snowfall of the year, most news papers printed photos of the ridge submerged in clumps of fresh snow. Prominent landmarks on the Ridge are a neo-Gothic structure of Church from 1844 and a tudorbethan styled library building built in 1910. There are three statues on the ridge; that of Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and Dr. Y.S. Parmar, the first chief minister of Himachal Pradesh. The biggest hillstation of the world, at one time the base ridge of Shimla had the thickest forest of the area, now the green slopes are covered with firs, pines, the Himalayan oak and carmine rhododendron trees, among which are dotted red-roofed chalets, half-timbered houses and Gothic Government buildings are visible from The Ridge.

Hidimba Devi Temple, locally known as Dhungiri Temple, also known variously as the Hadimba Temple, is located in Man?li, a hill station in the State of Him?chal Pradesh in north India. It is an ancient cave temple dedicated to Hidimbi Devi, wife of Bhima, a figure in the Indian epic Mah?bh?rata

Rohtang Pass- a gateway to Lahaul and Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh, remains one of the most spectacular destinations in the entire Kullu region. The main Buddhist temple (also called (Tsuglakhang in Tibetan) in McLeod Ganj, situated opposite the residency of H.H. Dalai Lama is open to the visitors from Sunrise to sunset each day. The temple has three main images of Lord Buddha or Sakyamuni, Padmasambhava and Avlokiteshvara. The images of Padmasambhava, Tibet?s great tantrik teacher and Avlokiteshvara, the Buddha of compassion are facing towards Tibet. Besides these images several volumes of religious Buddhist texts wrapped in yellow cloth are kept in glass paned cupboard on both sides of Buddha image. The temple is visited of hundreds of devotees every day. You can see the the Tibetan devotees during prayer in the temple every day in the morning and later afternoon. From time to time H.H. Dalai Lama gives public appearance in the temple his followers from all over the world and also gives preaching?s at the same temple.

The Kangra Fort was built by the royal Rajput family of Kangra State (the Katoch dynasty), which traces its origins to the ancient Trigarta Kingdom, mentioned in the Mahabharata epic. It is the largest fort in the Himalayas and probably the oldest dated fort in India. At least three rulers sought to conquer the fort and plundered the treasures of its temples: Mahmud Ghazni in 1009, Firuz Shah Tughluq in 1360 and Sher Shah in 1540. The fort of Kangra resisted Akbar's siege. Akbar's son Jahangir successfully subdued the fort in 1620.Kangra was at the time ruled by Raja Hari Chand Katoch of Kangra (also known as Raja Hari Chand II) Mughal Emperor Jahangir with the help of Suraj Mal garrisoned with his troops.
