About Sangla Valley, Chitkul Trek (Shibaling Lake) Kinnaur

Sangla, Chitkul is a beautiful place located in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh, which is the main attraction of trekking among tourists. Situated in the lap of the mighty Himalayan range of Kinnaur, Sangla Valley is also known as "Baspa Valley''. Kinnaur is one of the most scenic but lesser known districts of Himachal Pradesh located on the Indo-Tibetan border. 

It is surrounded by Tibet in the east, Garhwal Himalayas in the south, Spiti valley in the north and Kullu valley in the west. There is less rainfall here than in other areas, so there are barren mountains here. Which can be compared with Ladakh. 

Most of the people in Kinnaur are influenced by Buddhism, where each village has a gompa or a temple. There are grand monasteries at Morang and Namgiya. These have beautiful sculptures and wood carvings. Kinnaur is a land of legends and mythology. 

The main town of Kinnaur district is Kalpa, from here a beautiful view of Mount Kinner Kailash can be seen. It is undoubtedly Kinnaur surrounded by beautiful valleys. Snow capped peaks of more than 6000 meters high, dense deodar forests, apple orchards, and the BSP River leave you mesmerized with the mesmerizing views.

Best Season To Visit - The best time to trek Sangla Kanda along Shibaling Lake is from May to October. These days you can go on Sangla Valley trekking with better facilities.


Sangla - The Central village in the valley, Sangla (2,680 m) is 18 km from Karchham. A link road that goes off the NH No.22 into the Baspa valley offers an enchanting visit at every curve. There are saffron fields, orchards and vineyards. The Kinner  Kailash peak dominates the view from Sangla. It is worth a visit to the Kamru Fort, an impressive fortress-style temple dedicated to the Goddess Kali, where all the Maharajas of Kinnaur were crowned.


Chitkul Village - Chitkul is a village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. During winters, the place mostly remains covered with the snow and the inhabitants move to lower regions of Himachal. According to a recent study by the Centre of Atmospheric Sciences at IIT Delhi, Chitkul has the cleanest air in India.

1

Chota Kanda – Sangla Kanda (3,650 M) [ Trek 5 Kms - 3 Hrs.)

We start our first-day easy trek to Chota Kanda. Reach Chota Kanda by lunchtime. A pretty campsite in a jungle of Deodar trees. We carry on further to Sangla Kanda, which is very popular for it’s high altitude apple orchards, pear, walnut & peas. The trek passes through the dense forest to arrive at Sangla Kanda. The route has spectacular views all throughout the trek. Reach Sangla Kanda by lunchtime. Overnight in tents.

Sangla Kanda – Theoka (4,200 M) [ Trek 8 Kms - 4 Hrs.)

THEOKA(4,200 m), our last camp site at an altitude of 4200 m cannot be described in words. Undulated meadows at the base of the Himalayas offer spectacular sight and peace of mind. An easy trek for about 4 hrs. Reach by lunchtime and evening free for exploration. Overnight in tents.

Theoka - Shibaling Lake (4700m)- Theoka (10kms/ 5hrs Trek)
Theoka

After breakfast, we climb up to Shibaling pass which is the gateway to Shibaling lake. Return back by afternoon to the campsite. Overnight in tents.

Theoka – Sangla [15 Kms – 5 Hrs.]
Sangla

After breakfast, we trek back to Sangla Base Camp. Arrive by lunch time and check into tents. After lunch, you are free to explore Sangla on foot. Overnight in tents.

Cancellation Policy
The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of receipt of the letter. 

Notice less than 60-46 days:  25% cost will be deducted
Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

Note: No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trip or abandon it due to any reasons.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • The digital copy of the Indemnity form duly filled, signed and emailed to the company along with the booking amount. 
  • It will be deemed that the booking & payment policy is accepted by the clients while making bookings with the first deposit amount. 
  • If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  • In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option is chosen on per day basis.
  • Please note and be well informed that there will be no refund of money after the package commences and if one cannot complete the activity or gets sick enroute. 
  • The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed.

  1. It is in the nature of a holiday of this kind to be flexible. The day-to-day agenda and ultimate goal of the tour are taken as an aim and not as a contractual obligation. We shall not be responsible for the delays or alterations in the program or expenses incurred due to conflict, international or internal flight delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, weather, war, vehicle problems, political closures, and disputes.
  2. The booking is accepted on the understanding that you realize the potential risks and hazards that can be involved in the holidays of this kind. The organizer along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday. 
  3. Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue. It is recommended that travel insurance should cover adventure activities undertaken. We can help you in case required
  4. The Company would not be liable to pay any kind of compensation arising because of any mishap, sickness, accident, etc.
