Overview
The Rupin Pass is a high-altitude trek starting from Dhaula in Uttarakhand and terminating at Sangla. Although the trek originates in Uttarakhand, the route lies mostly in Himachal Pradesh.
At a height of about 4,650 meters, the Rupin Pass is considered to be one of the highest-rated trekking trails in India. The variety of spectacular views and the sudden transitions in the trail attract many nature lovers.
The Rupin Pass is a recommended trek for any adventure as it offers mobility on all types of terrain, whether rocky, through snow, flowing water, or grasslands.
The trek starts with a green and warm landscape, gradually reaching towards the colder regions. The trail has a "U" shaped valley at the bottom of the glacier, which looks like a lush green bed of grass.

The Rupin Pass qualifies as a moderately difficult trek. This means that performing this trek requires a high fitness level and, ideally, Himalayan trekking experience. You can do this as your first trek, provided you are well trained and mentally prepared. You travel 10 to 15 kilometers per day on this journey.

The best time to visit the Rupin Pass is the monsoon season, which is between May to June and then the summer months from September to mid-October.
The Rupin Pass track reaches a height of 4,650 meters and ascends on the track to the pre frost zone. You can expect to see snow in this area throughout the year.
