Overview

Rajasthan Desert Safari Tour Package

The Thar Desert in Rajasthan is spread over an area of 3,000 square kilometers. The variety of wildlife in the Thar Desert includes many interesting creatures such as desert fox, fringe-tailed agama eagles, blackbuck, desert gerbil, sand gorge, vulture, and cat. The Thar Desert, situated in a vast sea of sand, will make your trip memorable. It offers a spectacular experience of the Thar Desert's biological community and its natural life adventures.

The park also is home to the endangered Great Indian Bustard. Get ready to embark on a thrilling dune-bashing experience in the Thar Desert. Get ready for the Thar Desert getaway along with the Marwar Region and the journey will be even more enjoyable than the destinations.

Marwar Region

Marwar is a part of the state of Rajasthan located in the northwestern part of India. The literal meaning of Marwar is the region of the desert, in which the word 'Maru' in Sanskrit is a place, and "wad" means a special area. This entire region includes some districts of Jalore, Jodhpur, Barmer, Nagaur, Pali, and Sikar.

The Marwar region is located in the northwest of the Aravalli range, which is a sandy plain, due to which it does not get much moisture even during the monsoon. The normal temperature here during summer ranges from 48 to 50 degrees Celsius. Marwar is full of its historical culture and richness.

Best Time to Visit the Thar Desert

The Thar Desert, being in the sandy area, offers a unique landscape consisting of rocks and compact Salt Lake bottoms. The best time to visit the Thar Desert is during the months of October to March when the weather is very pleasant these days.  Although the Thar desert is open to tourists all year round, the winter season is chosen to be the most visited here.

During winter, the temperature here ranges between about 2 to 25 degrees Celsius. If you are more interested in watching birds in the park, then you should visit from late November to the months of February. The temperature of the desert becomes very high in summers going up to 50 degrees, making this an unviable travel option.

Itinerary

Day

1

Arrival in Jaipur | Welcome to the 'Pink City of India'
Jaipur

- Arrive at Jaipur, where our representative will transfer to your hotel. Check-in upon arrival at the hotel after 2:00pm.
- Today we will visit the elegant Hawa Mahal (Palace of the Winds) - this elaborate building, now little more than a fa?ade, is encrusted with delicate screens and carved balconies from which the royal ladies, confined to their quarters, could sneak views of the outside world.
- Blue Pottery : Blue Pottery is widely recognized as a traditional craft of Jaipur, though it is Turko-Persian in origin. The name 'blue pottery' comes from the eye-catching cobalt blue dye used to color the pottery. It is one of many Eurasian types of blue and white pottery, and related in the shapes and decoration to Islamic pottery and, more distantly, Chinese pottery. It is relatively unusual as a type of quality or luxury Indian pottery, most Indian types being functional and though often highly decorated, relatively low prestige wares.

Later shopping at the Jaipur local Market; Today, Jaipur reaps the benefits of its founder's foresight in the form of shops marketing jewelry, textiles, and numerous types of locally-made crafts. There is a lot to shop and find. Some of them are:

- Home Furnishing
- Bags
- Home D?cor Stuff
- Silverware
- Gifts
- Handicrafts
- Gemstones
- Jewelry (Silver/ Gold/ Colored Gemstones)
- Marble Products
- Marble sculptures
- Traditional block print garments and textiles
- Blue pottery
- The list is endless....
- For handicrafts like puppets, bandhanwars, wall hangings, white metal artifacts, we will go to Linking Road in Bapu Bazaar next to Saraogi Mansion. Nehru Bazaar is also a must-visit place for textiles, local perfumes, shoes made of camel skin (juttis/ mojaris), Rajasthani trinkets and bandhani work.
