Our journey begins in Bergen, the capital of Western Norway, with its colourful and UNESCO-listed warehouses in Bryggen. The funicular railway, Fliebanen, is one of the important points to see in Bergen, don't miss to sample the seafood at the fish market. Take a walk along the lively harbour. Bergen is the gateway to the Norwegian fjords and the start of your coastal adventure.

Ålesund is renowned for its art nouveau architecture with beautiful brick houses and warehouses. In the summer, you can continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Geiranger Fjord, which has steep mountainsides and dramatic waterfalls.

This morning we will dock in Trondheim, a historic city founded over a thousand years ago. Nidaros Cathedral is a landmark of the city: it is the national pilgrimage centre of Norway and one of the largest cathedrals in Northern Europe. After our visit here, the journey continues across the fjord, an abundant archipelago and heads for northern Norway.

Now we travel further to the Arctic Circle, and continue on to the Arctic regions, crossing the Arctic Circle. This means the midnight sun in summer, while a winter day is only a shade less dark than at night and possibly the Northern Lights in the evening. Nature encounters with majestic sea eagles, including the world's strongest and most powerful tidal current and largest glacier in northern Scandinavia. In the evening, the fishing villages of Lofoten, steep hills and Vikings await.

The journey continues through narrow fjords and past wooded mountains to Troms, a town characterised by hunting and fishing, polar expeditions and adventure. Now we have also reached the land of the Sami, a native of Norway. Meeting their reindeer is a unique experience that you will remember as soon as you hear about Sami culture.

As far north as you can get - by land and sea. For many, the visit to the North Cape is a high point and a goal for voyages along the Norwegian coast.
