Overview

Namik Glacier Trek

The Namik glacier is located on the Kumaon Himalayas in Uttarakhand, with an elevation of 3,600 meters, surrounded by magnificent peaks such as Nanda Kot (6,861 m), Nanda Devi (7,848 m), and Trishul (7,120 m). The Namik Glacier is one of the most tranquil terrains in the world, with the trail en route showcasing dense foliage, meadows, water springs, 

and view of the magnificent peaks making this trek even more beautiful and attractive. During this trek, you also visit the Hiramani Glacier, which has a height of 3,620 meters. The entire route of trekking follows the Ramganga River through grasslands, mountains, and glaciers.

For Namik glacier trekking, the access point is the Bageshwar town and exiting from Munsiyari town. Namik is 40 km from Munsiyari. While trekking you will visit the villages of Namik and Gogina. While trekking to the Namik Glacier, the trekkers find breathtaking nature and views of the Himalayas surrounded by all around, 

which are very enchanting. The road continues to explore ancient temples and local culture. Namik Village is situated on the Indo-Tibet trade route, and is particularly rich in heritage from the two villages of Gogina and Namik.


How to Reach Bageshwar, Namik Glacier

The gateway for this trek is from Bageshwar. We have three options to go to Bageshwar, which is as follows.

By Air: The nearest airport to Bageshwar to go by air is Pantnagar, which is located at Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand, 180 km from Bageshwar. There are four flights from Delhi to Pantnagar for each week. Local taxi and bus services are available from Pantnagar to Bageshwar.

By Train: The nearest station to come to Bageshwar by Train is Kathgodam in Nainital district. The distance to this railway station is 154 km from Bageshwar. Because it is the gateway to the Kumaon district of Uttarakhand.

By Road: Bageshwar is connected by roads with the Garhwal and Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. To come to Bageshwar, you can take a bus from Delhi's ISBT Anand Vihar. Buses are available from Anand Vihar to Almora, Haldwani, Nainital, and many other places in Uttarakhand. After this you can also book local buses and taxis from Bageshwar.

Namik Glacier Trek Difficulty Level - Namik and Hiramani Glacier trek is a moderate level trek. One should have prior experience of trekking before signing up for this trek. 

Best Season: April  end - June/ September mid - November. Avoid monsoons from July to September mid.

Maximum Altitude: Namik Glacier 3,600 metre (11,800 ft) & Hiramani Glacier 3,620 metre (11.876 ft)

1

Drive from Kathgodam To Gogina via Bageshwar (230 Kms/ 9:00 Hrs )
Gogina

We pick you up from the Kathgodam railway station early morning, the gateway to the Kumaon region and drive you to Bageshwar
Arrival in Gogina late in the evening. Gogina village is located in Kapkot Tehsil of Bageshwar district in Uttarakhand. Our homestay in the Gogina village, is a very old but well maintained pahadi house, like out of a magazine, located in a beautiful landscape with smiling hard working people. It does not have any frills and fancies like television, fancy cupboards or spring mattress, but it offers a very comfortable sleep with clean linen and beds. The wood fired fireplace provides luxury and warmth. The floor is wooden made out of walnut wood matching perfectly with the nature outside, offering many tales and stories attached to it.

Trek Gogina To Thala Bugyal ( Trekking 8 Km/ 3-4 Hrs )

Early morning trek to Namik village. The total geographical area of Namik village is 486.38 hectares with a total population of 476 inhabitants. There are about 118 houses in Namik village. After a hot lunch in Namik village, we proceed on to Thala Bugyal where we camp and stay overnight.

Trek Thala Bugyal To Thal Top ( Trekking 4 Km/ 2-3 Hrs )
Thal Top

Early morning after breakfast we leave trekking to the thaltop. This is a scenic day with great views of the spectacular peaks surrounding us such as Mt. Nanda Devi (7,848) metres, Mt Nanda Kot 6,861 metres and Mt Trishuli 7,120 metres. Hot lunch will be served at campsite thaltop. Rest of the day is to enjoy the nature around us

Trek Thal Top To Ghaduli ( 14 Km Meadows Trek/ 6-7 Hrs)
Ghaduli

Early morning after breakfast, we start trekking to Ghaduli with a packed lunch. The trail crosses amazing bugyals and undulating meadows. Another great with spectacular views. We reach Ghaduli by evening and set up the campsite. The team will quickly prepare tea with a snack later followed by some soup before dinner.

Day Trek to Nand Kund/Namik/Hiramani Glacier ( 15 Km Return Trek/ 7-8Hrs )

Early morning after breakfast, we trek to Nand Kund and the glaciers. We carry our carry packed lunch with us returning back to the campsite before sunset. Namik Glacier is situated in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand in the Kumaon Himalayas at an altitude of 3,600 m. This glacier is the source of the Ramganga Riverand is surrounded by known peaks of the Indian Himalaya such as Mt. Nanda Devi (7,848) metres, Mt Nanda Kot 6,861 metres and Mt Trishuli 7,120 metres. The glacier route falls on the ancient Indo-Tibet trade route, 23 km trekking from the villages of Liti, Gogina and Namik. There are a number of waterfalls and sulphur springs originating around this glacier. The glacier is reached by trekking from village Gogina on the Sama Liti Road. Namik means a place where saline water springs are present.

Trek Ghaduli To Puniya Bugyal (10 Km Trek/ 4-5Hrs)
Puniya Bugyal

Early morning after breakfast we start the trek to Puniya Bugyal. The trail continues with its spectacular meadows and the views of the mountain peaks. Today as we walk towards east, we also get views of Mt Kuchela Dhura 6294M, located at the near true right bank of Lwa Glacier or true left bank of Shalang glacier, surrounded by Mt Nandakot, 6861 metres.

Trek Khaliya Top To Bilati Band (4Kms/ 1:30 mins) / Drive to Munsiyari
Munsyari

The final day of our trek where we descend down Bilati Bend and then drive into the Munsiyari town. Munsiyari is situated in Pithoragarh, the easternmost hill district of Uttarakhand, bordering Tibet. Munsiyari lies at the head of the Johar valley where the river Gori ganga flows and is a starting point of various treks into the interior of the Johar Valley at an elevation of 2,200 M. Munsiyari literally means a ?place with snow. Some of the more popular day trip destinations are Khalia Peak (3747 meters / 12290 feet), Mesar Kund (A Small Forest Pond in Sarmoli and Shankhdhura Villages), Thamri Kund (Another pond on the Betuli Dhar ridge), Dana Dhar Ridge, Hot Springs at Madkot and Sera, Gori Ganga River, Balati Farm and Tribal Heritage Museum. One has a breathtaking view of the Himalayan peak, Panchchuli from here. Munsiyari is the base for the trekkers to Milam and Ralam Glaciers and Nanda Devi peak.

Notice less than 60-46 days:  25% cost will be deducted
Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

  3. If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  4. In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option chosen on a per day basis.
  5. Please  note  and  be  well  informed  that  there  will  be  no  refund  of  money  after the package commences and if one cannot complete activity or gets sick enroute. 
  6. The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed
  7. It is in the nature of a holiday of this kind to be flexible. The day-to-day agenda and ultimate goal of the tour is taken as an aim and not as a contractual obligation. We shall not be responsible for the delays or alterations in the program or expenses incurred due to conflict, international or internal flight delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, weather, war, vehicle problems, political closures and disputes.

The organiser along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday.

Before the guestst of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to conti come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cosnue.
