Kaziranga National Park Tourism

Kaziranga National Park is known for having the largest population of horned rhinoceros. Apart from this, it is a treasure of flora and fauna. Kaziranga National Park is located in the state of Assam in northeast India. Its total area is shared by Nagaon, Karbi Anglong, and Golaghat districts, which are placed in the center of the state. 

Kaziranga National Park is located about five hours away from Guwahati, it symbolizes successful wildlife conservation in India. In 1985, it was granted World Heritage Site status by UNESCO. Every year there is rainfall in the amount of recruitment. Even at times, the level of rain goes very high. The National Park consists of marshy land, tall grass, and a tropical large forest. 

A variety of fauna is found in the national park, including one-horned rhinoceros, Asiatic elephant, wild buffalo, leopard, and Royal Bengal tigers. In addition, it is one of the largest national parks in the world with a tiger population. Apart from wild animals in the park, birds can also be seen here, in which black-nested storks, swans, paragynous ducks, and India's great bird hornbill can also be seen. Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari are also done here.


Best Time (Season) to Visit Meghalaya Shillong

Before going to Meghalaya or Shillong, you need to know which is the best time to visit Meghalaya. The best time to visit Meghalaya, Dawki River, Cherrapunji, or Shillong is the same, the best time to visit Meghalaya is during the months of October to April. Summer season - April to June (15 to 28 Degree Celsius)
Summer starts in April and lasts till June end. Meghalaya has a minimum temperature of 15 Degree Celsius and a maximum of 28 Degree Celsius during this season. Autumn season - October to November (8 to 18 Degree Celsius)

Winter season - December to March (4 to 16 Degree Celsius)
The minimum temperature in winter is 4 Degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is up to 20 Degree Celsius. The weather season allows visitors to participate in many things in Meghalaya. 1

Arrive Guwahati Railway Station / Airport to Shilong (215Kms)
Shillong

You will be picked up from Guwahati Airport.
On the way to Shillong we will stop at the Umiam Lake and then transferred to Shillong. Check in at hotel.
You can take a local tour, time permitting, covering Cathedral Church, Lady
Hydari Park, the Orchidarium, Polo Ground and Wards Lake. Return back to the hotel and spend overnight at hotel in Shillong

2

Day trip to Cherapunji (220 Kms)
Shillong

You will be picked up from Shillong hotel in the morning after breakfast and leave for a day trip to Cherrapunjee. You will visit Spectacular Seven Sisters Fall, Mawsmai Cave, Nahkhalikai Falls.
En route visit Elephant Falls and the famous Shillong peak.
Return back to the hotel in the evening and overnight at hotel in Shillong.

Day trip to Mawlynlong Dawki (248 Kms)
Shillong

You will be picked up from Shillong hotel in the morning and then
transferred to Mawlynlong.
Of special note is that the village is named as the cleanest village in Asia. Here, pay a visit to Jingmaham Living Root Bridge. Walk around the charming Mawlynong Village.
Next, proceed for a visit to Dawki. The small border town in the Jaintia Hills is known for the picturesque Umngot River, which is a must visit site in Meghalaya. Enjoy the scenic beauty. Experience a boat ride in the crystal clear waters where you can feel like floating in the air as the water is so clear (Boat charges pay at your own).
Return back to the hotel and overnight at hotel in Shillong.

Drive Shilong to Kaziranga (330 Kms)

You will be picked up from Shillong hotel and then transferred to
Kaziranga. Check-in at hotel and relax amidst the iconic tea gardens and lush landscape of Assam.

Drive Kaziranga to Guwahati (275 Kms)
Guwahati

Early morning go for Elephant ride (Subject to allotment from forest department and on direct payment basis).
You will be picked up from Kaziranga hotel and then transfer to Guwahati. Overnight stay at hotel in Guwahati.

Guwahati Railway Station / Guwahati Airport Departure
Guwahati

In the morning, time permitting you can visit the famous Kamakhya Devi
Temple. Return back to the hotel.
Later, you will be picked up from your Hotel and transferred to Airport / Railway Station for your onward / return journey back home.

The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of receipt of the letter. 

  • Notice less than 60-46 days:  25% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

  • It will be deemed that the booking & payment policy is accepted by the clients while making the bookings with the first deposit amount. 
  • If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  • In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option chosen on per day basis.
  • Please  note  and  be  well  informed  that  there  will  be  no  refund  of  money  after the package commences and if one cannot complete activity or gets sick enroute. 
  • The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed.

The organisor along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday.

Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue.
