Majuli Island Tour Package

Majuli's Attractions & History - Majuli Island in the northeast state of Assam, India is the largest inhabited river island in the world and has been the most important cultural center of Assam since the 16th century. Majuli sets apart from the rest of the world because of its unparallel exquisiteness and prosperous culture. Amidst the massive Brahmaputra River, this island is a massive area of 352 sq km. 

It has many small villages within and seems like a world of its own where life is slow as compared to the rest of the world with peace prevailing all around. It has an old-world charm with people living in bamboo huts and still cooking food on fire with a lot of diverse wildlife and uninterrupted harmony with mankind. The locals are simple hospitable wearing colorful clothes. Majuli Island is an amazing place for bird watching, cycling, and walking. A lot of local and migratory birds can be seen.


Places To Majuli Island 

Kamlabari Satra
For hundreds of years, Kamalabari has been a center of art, culture, literature exuding the charm of beautiful design. The walls are decorated with stunning elaborate designs. The terrace is adorned with glorious paintings of deities that echo the cultures of Assam. 

Auniati Satra
is famous for its collection of contemporary art, jewelry, and pottery. This iconic statue has a superb architectural structure consisting of lion statues on each side. Dances and songs performances are regular at this place.

The Heritage Village Visit
Inhabited by agricultural and tribal communities, one can explore its beautiful culture and traditions. Along the streets, one can see villagers weaving handicrafts and the region is famous for it.

Best Season to Visit Majuli 
Winters are the best time to visit, starting in October and ending in March. The climate here is calm and pleasant, nature is at its best here.

Arrive Guwahati

Arrive in Guwahati and you will be welcomed by our representative who will escort you to the hotel /guest house. After freshening up, there will be a short briefing session on the tour.

In the evening experience a river cruise on mighty Brahmaputra followed by dinner.

Guwahati - Kaziranga
Kaziranga

After early morning breakfast we start our journey to the Kaziranga National Park by surface which is 200 km from Guwahati and takes around 5 hrs.

Arrive Kaziranga and check into the hotel.

In the evening, we go for a game drive / jeep Safari in the National park. Kaziranga national Park experience is rich in showcasing Royal Bengal Tigers & One Rhinos.

Transfer back to your hotel.

Kaziranga - Majuli

Early morning we again go back to the National Park for another experience of an Elephant Safari. (Note: Elephant ride is subject to availability from the Forest Dept.)

Post breakfast we will start our journey towards Majuli, which is World's Largest River Island 155 km away from Kaziranga. During the journey we will cross the mighty Brahmaputra River, a trans-boundary river which flows through China, India and Bangladesh on a loacl ferry.


Majuli is inhabited by Mishing tribe is very unique due to the culture of Majuli village.

Today we explore the Satras/Monasteries of Neo-Vaishnavite culture on cycles.

Auniati Satra: Founded by Niranjan Pathakdeva, the satra is famous for the Paalnaam and Apsara Dances and also its extensive assortment of ancient Assamese artefacts, utensils, jewellery and handicrafts. It also has a hundred and twenty five disciples and over seven hundred thousand followers worldwide.

Shamaguri Satra: The satra is famous for the mask making in India.

Keep on exploring the Majauli Island.

Garamurh Satra: This Satra was founded by Lakshmikantadeva. During the end of autumn, the traditional the Raasleela is enacted with pomp and celebrations. Ancient weapons called Bartop or cannons are preserved here.

Benegenaati Satra: It is a reliquary of antiques of cultural importance and an advance centre of performing art. Muraridev, the grandson of Sankaradevas stepmother was the founder of the Satra. The royal raiment belongs to the Ahom king Swargadeo Godadhar Singha, is made of gold. Also preserved is the royal umbrella made in gold.

Our last day in Majauli where we will spend a day with the people of Mishing tribes in the village, to learn more about their culture and tradition.

The day starts with a visit to the paddy field and helping a family in their work at the field. Learn how prepare ?Apong? a local rice beer, authentic drink prepared bythe Mishing tribes.

In the evening a bonfire with Gumrag- the traditional Mishing tribal dance

Cancellation Policy
The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of receipt of the letter. 

  • Notice less than 60-46 days:  25% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than 45-31 days:  50% cost will be deducted
  • Notice less than  30 days:    No Refund

Note: No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trip or abandon it due to any reasons.

  • It will be deemed that the booking & payment policy is accepted by the clients while making the bookings with the first deposit amount. 
  • If the client is forced to cancel the booking prior to departure, the cancellation policy will be followed.
  • In case of any delay beyond our control, the client will have to bear extra cost for the extra days as per the option chosen on per day basis.
  • Please  note  and  be  well  informed  that  there  will  be  no  refund  of  money  after the package commences and if one cannot complete activity or gets sick enroute. 
  • The cost is for the entire package and there would be no refunds in case any part of the package is not availed.

We shall not be responsible for the delays or alterations in the program or expenses incurred due to conflict, international or internal flight delay or cancellations, strikes, sickness, weather, war, vehicle problems, political closures and disputes.
  2. The  booking  is  accepted  on  the  understanding  that  you  realize  the  potential  risks  and hazards that can be involved in holidays of this kind. The organisor along with our leaders/guides and anyone else working in association with us cannot be held responsible for any death, accident or mishap that may occur in connection with any part of, or services connected with the holiday. 
  3. Before the guests come on a holiday, they must be covered by insurance, which has to include the cost of helicopter rescue, evacuation and cost of repatriation if they become too ill to continue. It is recommended that the travel insurance should cover adventure activities undertaken. We can help you incase required
