Overview
Marwar is a part of the state of Rajasthan located in the northwestern part of India. The literal meaning of Marwar is the region of the desert, in which the word 'Maru' in Sanskrit is a place, and "wad" means a special area. This entire region includes some districts of Jalore, Jodhpur, Barmer, Nagaur, Pali, and Sikar. The Marwar region is located in the northwest of the Aravalli range, which is a sandy plain, due to which it does not get much moisture even during the monsoon. The normal temperature here during summer ranges from 48 to 50 degrees Celsius. Marwar is full of its historical culture and richness.
Mewar is a region located in the south-central region of the Indian state of Rajasthan. It includes Pratapgarh, Rajsamand, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, and Pirawa tehsils of Jhalawar district, and Neemuch in Madhya Pradesh, Mandsaur, and parts of Gujarat. Mewar has been ruled by Rajputs for centuries. The princely state of Udaipur emerged as an administrative unit during the period when India was ruled by East India and remained so till the end of the British Raj era.

Founded in 1599 by Maharana Udai Singh, the house of Mewar, or Udaipur as it is now better known, is surrounded by the Aravalli mountain ranges. The ambiance, climate, and history have combined together to make Udaipur a tourist haven.
Jawai Leopard Safari
The Hills of Jawai in Rajasthan is one of the few places where the leopards and striped hyenas can easily be found. The Jawai hills and the dam are also home to other wild animals and migratory birds. Located in the Pali District of Rajasthan, it is famous for the Jawai dam, grasslands, riverbanks, and grazing grounds.
The hills of Jawai were formed by the lava millions of years ago and now the natural caves and rock shelters of the Jawai Hills are home to leopards and Indian striped hyenas. The unique behavior of leopards of the Jawai hills will change the opinion of leopards being solitary animals. The leopards live together in peace with humans.
The scenic beauty of the Jawai hills and the rare footage of leopards living like a family on the temple stairs is a rare sight to behold. Jawai is the only place in India with the highest density of leopards.
The region hosts a crocodile sanctuary and Kambeshwar Ji leopard sanctuary both located in and around Jawai. The Jawai Dam built across the Jawai River in the Pali district houses Indian Mogar crocodiles and crocodiles for migratory birds including crocodiles cranes and flamingos.
The picturesque location around the Jawai hills and the dam is home to a number of wild animals such as wolf, chinkara, jackal, and jungle cats. Jawai's wildlife sanctuaries are home to extraordinary wildlife and wild predators such as the Indian wolf, striped hyena, wild cat, panther, and Indian leopard.
Jawai Leopard Safari Timings: Morning 06:00 am to 09:30 am, and Evening 04:00 pm to 07:00 pm. The timing changes as per month. Due to heavy rainfall, the camp closes for a short period of time.

In Winters (November - February)
Winter is the peak season to visit Udaipur, Jodhpur, and the Marwar and Mewar regions in Rajasthan. The temperature in this season ranges from 5 ?C to 20 ?C.
Pushkar Summer (March - June)
The summer season lasts from the months of March to June. This month is the least good for traveling as the day temperature remains at 45 degrees Celsius.
In Monsoon (July-September)
The monsoon season extends from the months of July to September. Monsoon is also like summer where it rains intermittently during this season. Monsoon season is also off-season, and it is better for budget travelers

Reach Udaipur.
By Air - Udaipur is well connected to all the major cities of India, due to which it is very easy to reach Udaipur. The main airport here is "Maharana Pratap International Airport". This airport is well connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad. It is just 22 km away from Udaipur. You can take your flight from Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, etc. to reach Udaipur by air.
By Train - You can come to Udaipur railway station to come by Udaipur train. Udaipur Railway Station is located at a distance of 3 km from the city, and 20 km from the airport. This railway session is well connected to many major cities of India including Delhi, Mumbai, Agra, Jaipur, and Ahmedabad. Regular trains are available from here to Udaipur.
By Road - You can easily reach Udaipur by road. It is well connected to all the neighboring states of Rajasthan. You can opt for Rajasthan Roadways Bus to reach Udaipur.
