Nameri National Park is a national park in the foothills of the eastern Himalayas in the Sonitpur District of Assam, India, about 35 km from Tezpur. Nameri is about 9 km from Chariduar, the nearest village. Nameri shares its northern boundary with the Pakhui Wildlife Sanctuary of Arunachal Pradesh. Together they constitute an area of over 1000 km2 of which Nameri has a total area of 200 km. Nameri is also declared as Tiger Reserve in the year 1999-2000, which is the 2nd Tiger reserve of Assam after Manas Tiger Reserve.

The Brahmaputra River is the ninth largest and 15th longest river in the world, with a length of 3,969 km, the average depth of the Brahmaputra is 124 feet and the maximum depth is 380 feet. It flows through the Tibet Himalayas through China, India and Bangladesh. And the end falls in the Bay of Bengal.

Majuli Island is currently included in the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest river island in the world. The island was created a district in 2016, which is the first island to be created a district. Presently the island has become very small, as the rivers around it are getting bigger. Because of which it is shrinking.

Kaziranga National Park is a national park boasting the highest density of tigers among protected areas in the world in the Golaghat and Nagaon districts of the state of Assam, India. A World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the worlds Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. Kaziranga is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. Kaziranga is crisscrossed by four major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, offering a vast expanse of tall elephant grass, marshland, and dense tropical moist broadleaf forests, and the park includes numerous small bodies of water. The park celebrated its centennial in 2005 after its establishment in 1905 as a reserve forest.

Assam is famous for Bihu, Bagurumba, Bhortal, Sataria and Ojapali folk dances. In which Bihu and Bagurumba dances are held during spring. All the culture of Assam comes together on these festivals, the residents of Assam known as "Exomia" (Assamese). Assamese is the primary language of the state, apart from this each tribe has its own separate language.

Missing is a tribal village situated in Assam, where the tribal have lived since the 16th century. In this village, folk dances, instruments and games are organized during various occasions and festivals. The Ali-ai-elegant Nad Pohark Miss festivals are celebrated by the Missing tribes on the basis of their agricultural cycle.
