The main Buddhist temple (also called (Tsuglakhang in Tibetan) in McLeod Ganj, situated opposite the residency of H.H. Dalai Lama is open to the visitors from Sunrise to sunset each day. The temple has three main images of Lord Buddha or Sakyamuni, Padmasambhava and Avlokiteshvara. The images of Padmasambhava, Tibet?s great tantrik teacher and Avlokiteshvara, the Buddha of compassion are facing towards Tibet. Besides these images several volumes of religious Buddhist texts wrapped in yellow cloth are kept in glass paned cupboard on both sides of Buddha image. The temple is visited of hundreds of devotees every day. You can see the the Tibetan devotees during prayer in the temple every day in the morning and later afternoon. From time to time H.H. Dalai Lama gives public appearance in the temple his followers from all over the world and also gives preaching?s at the same temple.

The Kangra Fort was built by the royal Rajput family of Kangra State (the Katoch dynasty), which traces its origins to the ancient Trigarta Kingdom, mentioned in the Mahabharata epic. It is the largest fort in the Himalayas and probably the oldest dated fort in India. At least three rulers sought to conquer the fort and plundered the treasures of its temples: Mahmud Ghazni in 1009, Firuz Shah Tughluq in 1360 and Sher Shah in 1540. The fort of Kangra resisted Akbar's siege. Akbar's son Jahangir successfully subdued the fort in 1620.Kangra was at the time ruled by Raja Hari Chand Katoch of Kangra (also known as Raja Hari Chand II) Mughal Emperor Jahangir with the help of Suraj Mal garrisoned with his troops.

Known for its monolithic rock-cut temples, Masroor is 38 km from Kangra Town. There are 15 rock-cut temples in Indo-Aryan style which are richly carved. The temple complex is located on a hill and also has a large rectangular water pond. The view of the snow-clad Dhauladhar Range is amazing from the temple premises.

Palampur is a hill city situated in Kangra Valley. It is well known and was at one time a part of the Punjab kingdom. The town appeared when Dr. Jameson, Superintendent of Botanical Gardens, presented the tea gardens from Almora in 1849. The estates flourished thus did the town which turned into a focal point of the European tea domain proprietors with a special case of the popular (previous) Wah Tea Estate which was claimed by Nawab Muhammad Hayat Khan and his relatives, until 1947.Since at that point, the Kangra tea of Palampur has been known universally.

The Kangra Valley Railway lies in the sub-Himalayan region of Kangra Valley and covers a distance of 164 km (101.9 mi) from Pathankot, Punjab to Jogindernagar in Himachal Pradesh, India. The camp is situated at the top end of the Salli village on the road leading to Kareri village. The road will soon be connecting to Ghera and Naddi villages of Dharamshala in the near future. It offers sweeping view of the Khauli valley and the river with snow clad mountains to the north, spell binding sights of sunset towards the Khanol village to the west and spectacular sight of the huge reservoirs of Pong &Ranjit Sagar to the south.

Baijnath town is located 50 kms off Dharamshala, wherein the famous Shiva temple, known as the Baijnath Temple, gives the town its name. The architecture of the temple and the inscriptions on its walls reflect upon the early medieval North Indian styles, having been constructed as a shrine to Lord Shiva in 1204 AD by 2 merchants. The temple is the major attraction of the town and bringer of tourists.
