Deoria Tal is a lake near Mastura Village in Uttarakhand. It is quintessential of a hidden gem, for it encompasses lush green forests, rhododendrons, and picturesque mountain peaks all around it. It is an intersection point between Mastura and the Tungnath Temple. The temple derives its auspiciousness through its relevance with Hindu mythology as it is revered as one of the highest Shiva temples in the world alongside being the highest of the five Panch Kedar temples. Chandrashila marks the summit of Tungnath which is roughly 1 km further.
Deoria Tal, Tungnath temple, and Chnadrashila continue to attract hordes of tourists, domestic and international, maintaining its popularity for the beauty it beholds. A lot of mountain peaks are visible right in front of the lake in a wide array of almost 180 degrees. These include the very famous
Chaukhamba,Kedarnath, Kedarnath Dome, Satopanth, Nilkantha, Balakunt, Bhagirathi and Thalay Sagar.
The trek is broken down into short stretches with the minimal difficulty level. It is meant for anyone who admires nature at its best and who prefers a leisure trek. All in all, its scenic beauty remains the unique crossing point and one would definitely rejoice with an amazing experience.
Difficulty Level: Moderate
Best Season: All year round trek but avoid monsoons from July to September mid. Also, avoid the peak summertime of May and June as it is overcrowded with trekkers
