How To Reach Bhutan by Flight, Train & Road

Before traveling to Bhutan, you also need to know which route is best for you according to your budget. And how to get to Bhutan? If we talk about a few years ago from 1950 to 1975, then it was very difficult to go to the country of Bhutan. Because the transport facilities were not so much here. But at present Bhutan has made a lot of improvements in tourism. If we talk about the best route, then going to Bhutan by flight is an ideal option. Apart from this, Bhutan can also be visited by air travel, train route, and road from India, which are as follows -

By Flight - The international airport is in Paro, which is located at an altitude of 2,235 meters above sea level. Druk Air is the only airline that offers regular flights to and from Bhutan to India by air from India to Bhutan. Apart from this, people also choose Bagdogra Airport near Siliguri in West Bengal to come to Bhutan. After arriving at the airport, you can opt for a cab or car service from here to the hotel.

By Train - There is no direct rail route from India to Bhutan, but if you want to go to Bhutan by rail, then you can choose Hasimara Railway Station or New Alipore Gate. From here, the nearest city of Bhutan is located at a distance of 19 and 58 kilometers from Phuntsholing.

By Road - If you want to go to Bhutan by yourself, then you can opt for the road route. It is very easy to reach Bhutan by road as compared to other countries. There are three borders open to Bhutan, which include Phuntsholing, Gelephu, and Samdrup Jongkhar. Apart from this, Bhutan can also go from Guwahati to Bhutan and Siliguri by road.
